Retekess V111 DSP Receiver
This is the RETEKESS V111 DSP Radio which is available for under £10 and it makes an excellent AM receiver for the HF bands especially 80 and 60 metres. A very simple modification can be made by removing the 17" telescopic aerial and replacing it with an RCA Phono socket for an external aerial input.
The radio also covers VHF FM from 64 to 108Mc/s making it a very useful monitor for sporadic e around the 4 metre band.
The radio is very small and is powered by 2xAA batteries or a 5v external source, I have compared it's performance on 80m AM with various commercial rigs including an ICOM IC-7300 and it is only slightly down on receiver sensitivity, pretty good for a radio that cost me £9 on e bay!

Very little to see inside!
This pic shows the phono aerial socket fitted in place of the telescopic aerial allowing an external aerial to be connected, no enlargement of the hole was needed. The yellow lead is the original aerial lead which is connected to the centre pin and the outer is connected to the negative battery terminal.
